Summary

SRP is recruiting a Solution Center/Help Desk Student Intern. The ideal candidate will be a college Freshman, or Sophomore in an IT related curriculum. Selected candidate must be enrolled in college for a minimum of 6 credit hours (100+ level) during the Spring and Fall semesters to qualify. 

The student intern must be available to work Monday through Friday. 

The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department's needs, with a minimum department requirement of 30 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.

What You'll Do
  • Provide phone/chat assistance to internal SRP employees with varying degrees of technical knowledge
  • Provide excellent customer service, demonstrating patience while effectively dealing with employee technical problems
  • Perform problem-solving over the phone or through chat and determine appropriate course of problem escalation as required, while ensuring detailed written documentation
Education
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
Additional Requirements and Qualifications

Preferred experience includes:

  • Familiarity with many of the following: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Outlook, Exchange
  • Microsoft 365 (MS365) applications Windows Operating Systems: Windows  11, Microsoft Edge, Chrome, and Firefox, to include understanding configuration and properties
  • Networking, to include general knowledge of user accounts and login, FTP, dial-up/VPN, and Intranet vs.
  • Internet Desktop hardware, including the ability to problem-solve hardware component issues
  • Laptop hardware, including wireless Smartphones, Android and iPhone
  • Customer service experience

College level coursework (100 or higher) from an accredited institution is preferred. Management will evaluate college-level coursework individually to determine if it is applicable to the position and relevant to the required skills.

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
