Description
Position at AMBA
Inside Sales Account Development Specialist (W2)
Full-Time Monday through Friday
Compensation: $18 per hour plus monthly bonuses and benefits
Role Overview
This is a primarily inbound inside sales role supporting members and prospective members of large public employee and retiree associations. The Account Development Specialist team handles a high volume of inbound calls focused on education, service, and sales of Dental, Vision, and membership products.
While inbound calls are the primary responsibility, outbound follow-up and outreach may be required during periods of lower inbound volume. This role is best suited for candidates who enjoy interacting with members over the phone, working in a structured environment, and balancing service with sales.
About AMBA
AMBA provides insurance coverage and membership benefits to retired and active educators, police officers, firefighters, and other state, city, and municipal employees. Founded in 1981, AMBA partners with more than 74 state associations across 36 states to deliver trusted benefits to their members.
The Account Development Specialist team is an established and successful inside sales team within AMBA, continuing to grow in size and impact.
What You Will Do
  • Handle approximately 50 to 60 inbound calls per day from members and prospective members.
  • Educate callers on Dental, Vision, and association membership products and complete enrollments.
  • Provide support and answers to questions related to existing policies and membership benefits.
  • Make outbound calls to prospective members during periods of lower inbound call volume.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable and professional advocate for AMBA's association partners.
  • Accurately document all member interactions and sales activity in designated systems within required timeframes.
  • Deliver a consistent, high-quality member experience on every call.

Work Environment
This role operates in a structured, team-based inside sales environment with clear expectations for call handling, documentation, and performance. Success requires comfort working on the phone throughout the day, managing multiple call types, and balancing service with sales goals.
This Role Is a Strong Fit If You
  • Enjoy speaking with members and prospects by phone throughout the day
  • Have experience in a call center, customer service, or inside sales environment
  • Are comfortable balancing service conversations with sales opportunities
  • Can work within established processes while being accountable for individual results
  • Value consistency, structure, and teamwork

This Role May Not Be a Fit If You
  • Prefer minimal phone interaction
  • Are seeking a field sales or commission-only role
  • Are uncomfortable managing high inbound call volume
  • Need a highly flexible or unstructured workday

What You Bring
  • One year of call center experience preferred
  • One or more years of sales experience preferred
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Comfort navigating multiple systems and accurately documenting call activity
  • Ability to work collaboratively while being driven by individual performance
  • Flexibility with scheduling and work hours
  • Health insurance license preferred but not required
  • Bilingual Spanish skills preferred but not required

Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly pay of $17 plus monthly performance bonuses
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Stable full-time schedule, Monday through Friday
  • Opportunities for growth within an established inside sales organization
