Job description
The Academic Adoption Program focuses on expanding student access to and proficiency with Emerson T&M engineering tools in academia, helping universities prepare the next generation of test engineers and scientists. Through scalable academic programs and collaboration with industry, the goal is to increase student readiness for realworld engineering challenges, enhance institutional alignment with industrystandard instrumentation, and build lasting awareness and recognition of Emerson tools within academic programs and curricula.
The Academic Program Manager will lead this global Academic Adoption Program designed to drive student adoption of Emerson Test & Measurement (T&M) platforms and influence long-term product preference among the next generation of test engineers and scientists. This role builds the scalable "infrastructure" that enables Emerson T&M platforms to be teachable, supportable, and deployable across Engineering curricula worldwide-without increasing faculty burden.
Working across internal teams and an external academic ecosystem, he/she will create repeatable programs that expand from pilots to department-wide and multi-university adoption, while aligning academic workflows with real-world industry practices and modern pedagogy in the age of AI.
IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:
- Define and execute the global Academic Adoption Program strategy, program key initiatives, and operating model to achieve scalable student adoption outcomes.
- Build scalable "program infrastructure" that enables global reuse and regional execution. This includes leading the development and rollout of core global initiatives such as the Student Ambassador Program.
- Develop plans around student enablement that align academic workflows with real-world industry test and measurement practices, including AI augmented learning.
- Partner with regional Academic Adoption Leads and Regional Academic Business Managers to align global programs with regional university plans and resource needs.
- Build longterm faculty champions and ecosystem partnerships at target universities.
- Track program impact, student reach, adoption metrics, and report outcomes to leadership.
WHO YOU ARE: You readily distinguish between what's relevant and what's unimportant to make sense of complex situations. You deliver messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner. You articulate a compelling, inspired, and relatable vision. You formulate a clear strategy and map aggressive steps that will accelerate the organization toward its goals. You adapt quickly to changing conditions.
FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
- 5+ years in academic programs, engineering education, product adoption, or technical program leadership
- Bachelor's degree or above in related engineering majors
- Strong understanding of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) education and/or test & measurement workflows
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale global, crossfunctional programs, and experience managing global stakeholders, priorities, and ambiguity
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
- Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1 (including those with OPT or CPT), H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
- Prior experience working with universities, faculty, or academic ecosystems
- Familiarity with AIenabled learning and workforce readiness initiatives
EXPECTED OUTCOMES (12-24 Months)
-
Global academic adoption programs launched and operational
-
Repeatable deployment models active across AMER, EMEA, and APAC
-
Measurable increase in student exposure, tool usage, and faculty adoption
-
Foundational infrastructure in place for longterm workforce pipeline impact
