Job description


HealthPartners is offering a 12-month postgraduate fellowship program to Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners interested in advanced training in urgent care with a targeted start date of January 2027.
The HealthPartners Urgent Care Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) Fellowship is designed to support new graduate APCs in their transition to practice or experienced APCs in their transition to a new specialty. The program provides comprehensive clinical and didactic experiences that foster competence and confidence in delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care to patients with acute and urgent medical conditions in the outpatient setting. Responsibilities include obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, developing differential diagnoses, formulating assessment and management plans, coordinating care, providing patient education and treatment, and engaging in all required educational opportunities. Clinical supervision and support are provided by attending physicians and APCs. Training occurs in HealthPartners clinics across the Twin Cities.
Through diverse rotations, didactic lectures, skills training, and structured mentorship, APC fellows gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary for a successful career in urgent care.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
Note: Applicants may be in final year of completing this requirement with hiring dependent upon successful completion.
Licensure/Certification Required:
Current national certification by the NCCPA
Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in Minnesota
-or-
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Minnesota
Current national certification by the AANP, ANCC or AACN
Current licensure to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Minnesota
Note: Candidates are welcome to apply prior to having formal licensure and certification but must be obtained at least 3 months prior to start date of program.
