This job is within the the American Airlines Credit Union. The role is responsible for collecting on delinquencies while at the same time reinforcing American Airlines Credit Union’s mission of member advocacy.

What you'll do
  • Perform collections on consumer loans, credit cards, negative shares, mortgage loans, and controlling losses to the Credit Union
  • Refer loans for charge-offs for management review
  • Update member address information
  • Perform skip tracing and payment transfers
  • Send appropriate collection correspondence
  • Follow up on payment arrangements and broken promises to pay
  • Create and maintain detailed collection documentation of all accounts worked
  • Assist on IVR/ACD and Dialer, when requested
  • Review all credit and loan documents as well as membership cards
  • Review credit bureau reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​High School diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent relevant field or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • Experience in a financial/banking institutions with a working knowledge of the different products
  • Knowledge of FDCPA and the Texas Act

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
  • Skilled in excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels, both verbally and written
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Skilled in effective time management skills and proficiency while handling multiple projects/tasks
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
  • Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks
