Job description

Administrator, AACU Mortgage Processing

Job Purpose: Responsible for processing mortgage loan applications for purchase or refinance of non-commercial real estate by members of American Airlines Federal Credit Union. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare pre-closing Loan Quality Initiative requirements, credit analysis and quality control of loan information
  • Provide accurate closing and funding of mortgage loans
  • Responsible for reviewing title commitments, appraisals, flood, homeowners' insurance policies, condo questionnaires, assets and credit
  • Meet deadlines and assist with production goals
  • Represent the Mortgage Department in various Credit Union days, seminars and other special projects as directed by management staff of Mortgage Department
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Meets qualifications to obtain NMLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous banking or Credit Union experience
  • Previous mortgage experience in loan processing, loan origination or financial services
  • Previous knowledge of FNMA, NCUA and AAFCU Mortgage Lending Guidelines
  • Previous Residential Mortgage Closing and Funding experience
  • Previous working knowledge of PC Software including Desktop Underwriting, Mortgage LOS applications, and Episys

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe software (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel) gained through work experience and hands-on use of the software
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple files and function as an integral part of a team
  • Above average interpersonal and communication skills, including professional telephone manners
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels both verbally and written
  • Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and high-volume pressure
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment
  • Ability to quickly learn, adapt well to change, self-motivate and capacity for attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and adjust schedule as needed
  • Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks
