Job description

The Manager, Studio & Live Operations will play a critical role in leading and managing the technical execution of studio-based and remote productions that bring the New York Jets brand to life across digital, broadcast, and live platforms. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of the Jets' state-of-the-art studio while managing live programming including pregame and postgame shows, press conferences, podcasts, and other live or taped productions. The role requires strong technical expertise and creative collaboration to ensure seamless production workflows and high-quality content delivery that aligns with the organization's content strategy.
Studio & Live Production Leadership
  • Oversee all studio operations for productions originating from or flowing through the Jets studio environment.
  • Direct and manage live and taped productions including pregame and postgame shows, press conferences, media availability sessions, and special programming.
  • Perform and supervise a wide range of technical production roles during broadcasts, including Director, Technical Director, Producer, and Editor.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with broadcast and radio partners to optimize resource sharing, production capacity, and workflow efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain a weekly studio operations schedule that aligns with the broader departmental content calendar.

Technical Operations & Studio Engineering
  • Operate and train team members on all control room systems including Ross switchers, RTS communications, VMIX Productions, digital audio workflows, Dante audio networking, LiveU transmission systems, and control room routers.
  • Partner with IT teams, production managers, and external studio support vendors to engineer, expand, and maintain studio and control room technology.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly during live productions to ensure minimal disruption to broadcast operations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with studio integrators and external vendors to ensure equipment and software remain current and fully optimized.

Content & Production
  • Capture, edit, and produce newsworthy digital content that supports the organization's daily content strategy.
  • Assist with the production and editing of stadium videoboard content used during gameday presentations.
  • Contribute to the production of creative video segments for Jets-owned digital platforms.
  • Support departmental content initiatives through editing, organizing, and delivering social media cutdowns, network melts, radio clip-offs, and other short-form content.

Podcast & Programming Development
  • Coordinate, lead and innovate the production for the Jets podcast network, including scheduling, recording, editing, and publishing.
  • Develop scripts and programming rundowns for live studio broadcasts and digital programming.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external on-camera talent to support programming opportunities and content initiatives.

Operations & Workflow Management
  • Lead staffing, scheduling, and operational planning for studio productions and remote shoots.
  • Ensure live streaming and restreaming workflows are optimized across multiple platforms.
  • Maintain organized production workflows to support fast-paced gameday environments and rapid content delivery.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, production, and digital teams to ensure content output aligns with department goals.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a studio or live production environment.
  • Strong experience working in control room and studio production environments.
  • Ability to lead and direct live broadcasts in high-pressure, fast-paced gameday settings.
  • Working knowledge of digital audio boards, microphones, studio cameras, and studio lighting systems.
  • Strong understanding of live streaming and restreaming workflows.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple productions simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within a team-oriented environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Media Studies, Production, or a related field preferred.

Salary range for this role: USD $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year and discretionary annual company bonus, dependent on the specific qualifications of the successful candidate.
