AVI-SPL is looking for a Production Technician to support a studio facility for an established professional services client. The Production Technician will work in conjunction with the onsite AVI-SPL Studio Manager, Studio Engineer and the client events team to coordinate and execute digital productions. This role is responsible for day-to-day maintenance and set up of on-site studio equipment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
AVI-SPL is looking for a Production Technician to support a studio facility for an established professional services client. The Production Technician will work in conjunction with the onsite AVI-SPL Studio Manager, Studio Engineer and the client events team to coordinate and execute digital productions. This role is responsible for day-to-day maintenance and set up of on-site studio equipment.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assit in the setup and configuration of all required control room and studio elements for each production.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining all studio related equipment.
  • Collaborate with Studio Manager to coordinate weekly production schedule and ensure that all necessary resources are in place per production.
  • Work with Studio Engineer to coordinate equipment purchase and maintenance requests.
  • Fill various production roles for client webcasts, including but not limited to:
    • PTZ Camera Operator
    • Encoding Technician
    • Audio Operator
    • Floor/Stage Manager
    • Teleprompter Operator
    • Graphics Operator
    • Technical Director

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must-have skills & job qualifications
  • At least 3+ years of experience in production, broadcast, webcasting, events or similar field.
  • Experience with studio production equipment including video switchers, audio boards, robotic cameras, and teleprompter.
  • Understanding of industry standard web streaming and encoding platforms and software.
  • Track record of being organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and working well in a team atmosphere as well as having the capability to work well individually, is essential.
  • Strong work ethic, self-direction, self-motivation, patience, persistence.
  • Excellent collaboration and customer relationship skills with the understanding of the importance of white glove service.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including necessary paper and/or computer documentation.
  • Ability to maintain composure and a positive attitude during high pressure situations.
  • PC and MAC literate including MS Office applications.

Nice-to-have skills & job qualifications
  • College degree
  • Knowledge of Ross product suite including Carbonite, XPression, Tria
  • Knowledge of Grass Valley video switchers
  • Experience with Yamaha audio board
  • Experience with Dante and Madi audio routing
  • Skills in traditional television broadcast engineering, trouble shooting, and customer service
  • Adobe Creative Cloud knowledge

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and perform overhead work.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Available to occasionally work outside standard business hours when needed.
  • Travel may be infrequently required based on productions as well as meetings at AVI-SPL Bureaus and client offices.
