A Localization information

What is the difference between A Localization vs A Translator?

AspectA LocalizationA Translator
CredentialsLanguage proficiency, cultural knowledge, localization toolsLanguage proficiency, translation certifications (e.g., ATA)
Work EnvironmentSoftware companies, gaming, websites, appsPublishing, legal, medical, general documents
Industry UsageUsed in tech, gaming, e-commerce for adapting contentUsed in publishing, legal, medical fields for converting text

While both roles involve language skills, A Localization focuses on adapting content for specific markets, considering cultural nuances and technical integration. A Translator primarily converts text from one language to another without necessarily adapting it for cultural context. Localization is broader, often involving technical and cultural adjustments, whereas translation emphasizes linguistic accuracy.

Is localization a good job?

Localization is a viable career that involves adapting content for different languages and cultures, requiring skills in translation, cultural knowledge, and often familiarity with tools like CAT software. It offers opportunities in various industries such as technology, gaming, and media, with roles that can be remote or in-office. Job satisfaction depends on individual interests in language and cross-cultural communication, as well as the ability to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

What is a localization job?

A localization job involves adapting products, content, or software to different languages and cultures to ensure they are culturally appropriate and easily understood by target audiences. It typically requires language skills, cultural knowledge, and familiarity with tools like translation software or content management systems.

Job Description

Join GlobalLogic as a Senior FPGA Engineer (DSP & IQ Radio Processing) and be part of an experienced team that is reshaping technological boundaries! This exceptional opportunity allows you to work on innovative projects, employing your skills to develop extraordinary FPGA solutions. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, chipping in to our daring aims of developing detailed, high-accuracy micro-location systems. If you have a consistent record in FPGA/ASIC design and a passion for DSP algorithms, this is the place for you!

Algorithmic Approach

We are in need of a candidate with a robust algorithmic approach. You must be skilled in crafting, optimizing, and validating high-performance DSP algorithms, specifically for wireless communication or localization technologies. Understanding advanced signal processing techniques such as error correction, MIMO, and beamforming will give you a position. Your talent for definitively choosing the most effective methods for sophisticated problems is key.

Problem-Solver

As a true problem-solver, you will thrive in our fast-paced R&D environment, where you will address ambiguous problems and transform them into innovative solutions. You'll work from limited initial concept ideas to develop proof-of-concept systems and see them through to production-ready solutions. Your creative problem-solving skills will be key to our success.

Self-Motivated & Collaborative

We appreciate individuals who take initiative and are committed to overseeing their projects from conception to completion. You should be enthusiastic about working in a team with varied collaborators, communicating effectively with different interested parties, and actively seeking input. Your skill in working harmoniously with product managers, hardware technicians, and other team members will guarantee the successful execution of our projects.

Job Responsibilities

· Craft and establish FPGA-based solutions to fortify real-time, high-precision micro-location systems.

· Integrate sophisticated DSP and IQ radio processing algorithms that empower centimeter-level accuracy in changing surroundings.

· Streamline FPGA resource usage for high-speed interfaces and precision timing applications.

· Partner with multi-functional teams—hardware, software, RF, and product design—to explore new approaches for micro-location accuracy and robustness.

· Explore new technologies and industry trends in signal processing, radio interfaces, and localization methods.

· Swiftly prototype modern concepts and convert them into functional, production-ready solutions.
