We have an exciting new position for an Assistant Controller to support the Controller in managing the company's accounting and financial reporting functions. This position helps ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective internal controls.
Job Description
  • Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Assist the Controller with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the general ledger is accurate. Help prepare financial statements and management reports that provide leadership with timely and reliable financial information.
  • Accounting Operations & Cost Accounting: Support the day-to-day accounting operations by overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, assisting with payroll processing and benefits reporting, and monitoring inventory valuation and manufacturing cost accounting. Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis that helps drive informed business decisions.
  • Compliance, Internal Controls & Controller Support: Maintain accounting procedures and internal controls that protect company assets and ensure compliance. Coordinate requests from external auditors, assist with year-end audits, and serve as a reliable backup to the Controller while partnering with departments across the organization to improve financial processes and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of three (3) years of progressive accounting experience as an Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Cost Accountant, Manufacturing Accountant, or similar role. Experience with financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and manufacturing cost accounting is highly preferred. Experience working within an ERP system is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive financial information. Demonstrated ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment. Comfortable identifying process improvements and helping implement efficiencies.
  • Abilities: THIS ROLE IS ONSITE IN OMAHA, NE and requires the ability to work at our office at 132nd & L Street. Must be authorized to work in the United States, and able to pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol screen. Desire to live out our values as a team player and advocate for our culture:
