General Summary

This individual leads, plans, synthesizes ambiguous or conflicting requirements, and performs the complex responsibility of the design, implementation, and validation of state-of-the-art cellular technologies across a broad set of technology prototypes, standards, specifications, products, or components within a product. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop high quality and high capability air interface and modems with high performance (e.g., capacity, coverage, throughput, latency, power consumption) that meet and exceed industry standards and customer requirements. Leverages knowledge of cellular technologies to research, design, standardize, implement, optimize, verify, validate, and commercialize Wireless WAN (or cellular) air interfaces, modem technologies, and related core networks. Designs, optimizes, and implements wireless systems and modems. Develops models, code, tests and/or simulations to design or verify components. Assists with the integration of architecture and systems into a standard, chipset, platform, or product. Uses proprietary tools, such as Qualcomm's QXDM, to analyze current handsets and network infrastructures as well as accurately measure existing and potential 5G network performance. Uses in-house simulation platforms written in third party languages in combination with network traffic data to develop solutions and improve 5G network performance and efficiency. Develops white-papers, technical memos, new technology training documents, and detailed technical presentations. Supports development and evaluation of infrastructure vendor RFPs for 5G/LTE/Wi-Fi networks. Mentors and shares knowledge with junior team members. Acts as a strong contributor at design reviews and project meetings and communicates and implements a development plan.

Pay Range
