Who Are You?
As a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) on Third Shift, you are a calm, reliable presence who ensures the comfort and safety of residents during evening hours. You take pride in your attention to detail and your ability to provide quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with daily activities, including dressing, eating, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, and weight) and report any concerns.
- Properly set up, administer, and document medications following facility policies and state regulations.
- Maintain medication and treatment areas in a clean and orderly manner.
- Report medication refusals or adverse reactions to the supervising nurse.
- Provide supportive and respectful care, encouraging residents' independence while offering assistance as needed.
- Follow infection control procedures and ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to enhance the overall well-being of residents.
Qualifications:
- License/Certification:
- Must hold a current Certified Medication Aide (CMA) and Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in the state of Kansas
- Valid CPR certification required
- Experience: Previous experience in assisted living, long-term care, or a healthcare setting preferred
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail, especially with medication administration
- Ability to work independently and remain alert
- Excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills
- Compassionate and professional approach to resident care
