Full-Time / Consultant Role

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dynamic Specialist with a strong construction and IT background to join our team with hands on experience using Autodesk design tools like Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam. In this hybrid role, you will assist in computerized drafting for residential, agricultural, and commercial projects along with bridging the gap between technical IT support and drafting/design expertise, supporting clients in the construction and architectural design industries.

As a consultant, you will provide essential IT support to construction and design professionals that contribute directly to their daily drafting and design project needs. You must be comfortable shifting between technical support, CAD production, and client consulting throughout your work week.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Design / Drafting)

  • Utilize Autodesk products (Revit/AutoCAD/Bluebeam/3D Rendering software) working on multi- discipline architectural projects
  • Develop detailed design concepts, including sketches, drawings, and 3D models.
  • Prepare and modify construction documentation for commercial, agricultural, and residential projects, including new plans and renovations of existing buildings.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning laws, and other regulations throughout the design process.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences for architectural projects.
  • Assist in documentation for Permit applications.
  • Prepare presentations and visualizations to effectively communicate design ideas.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather information for design development.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals during the design and construction phases to ensure design integrity.
  • Develop solutions for technical and design problems
  • Assist with development and implementation of CADD Standards
  • Ability to troubleshoot software and file issues.
  • Oversee and coordinate BIM processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES (IT Support)

  • Provide day-to-day IT support for design and engineering professionals, including hardware, software, network, and application troubleshooting.
  • Support and maintain CAD workstations and related software (AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, etc.).
  • Assist with BIM coordination and document control when required.
  • Serve as a trusted consultant to construction and design clients, offering both technical support and design insights.
  • Track and bill time accurately for all client-facing and internal tasks.
  • Work closely with internal teams and clients to understand and deliver project goals.
  • Travel to client sites across the Mid-Atlantic region as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of Autodesk Products (Revit/AutoCAD/Bluebeam/3D rendering).
  • Knowledge of wood, steel, and concrete construction details and processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with Windows-based systems, CAD workstations, and design software.
  • Must have excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Experience with cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., BIM 360, Microsoft Teams).
  • Certifications in IT support or CAD systems (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional, CompTIA, Microsoft).
  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD Technology, or a minimum of two full years of drafting experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, preferably in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry.
