Pharmacist Manager Job Description
Overview:
The pharmacist manager is responsible for delivering the most remarkable patient experience, in every dimension, every time. The pharmacist will d eliver optimal medication management across all dimensions of care. Each pharmacy employee understands how he or she contributes to Goshen Medical Center's vision of achieving that commitment to patients and families. The pharmacist will also ensure safe, effective, and affordable medication use in our communities, one person at a time. The pharmacist is a member of the healthcare team at Goshen Medical Center who supports authentic personalized relationships with patients and their chosen support system. He or she will collaborate with team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health. The pharmacist must accept responsibility, authority, accountability and ownership for management and provision of care in accordance with current policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Required ; Doctorate of Pharmacy preferred
Experience: At least 2 years' experience preferred
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current pharmacy licensure in North Carolina
Additional Skills: Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining prescription records for at least three years.
Accepting responsibility of ensuring that pharmacy follows statutes and regulations pertinent to the practice of pharmacy.
Ensuring compliance with all federal and state laws pertaining to the dispensing of medications.
Ensuring security of fax transmissions of prescriptions.
Assuring security of prescription drugs, including controlled substances.
Notifying NCBOP of any change in pharmacist personnel within 30 days of such change.
F ostering teamwork , team member engagement and community involvement.
Committing to leveraging diversity and inclusion in support of quality care.
F ostering a safe patient environment driven by the principles of "First Do No Harm".
M anag ing pharmacy staff, equipment and the pharmacy facility.
Im plementing ongoing management/risk assessment of pharmacy automation and informatics.
I mplementing ongoing administration of the 340B program as directed by Goshen Medical Center.
D etermin ing resource needs and priorities and making recommendations to management.
C orresponding with P harmacy D irector and Pharmacy Program Manager to optimize sharing of information, use of state resources, and services provided.
Functioning with considerable independence and receiving administrative supervision from the Pharmacy Director and Pharmacy Program Manager.
