Flexco, a leading global manufacturer, is seeking a Urethane Machine Operator and Technical Support to work 2nd Shift in our air-conditioned facility. The chosen candidate will be responsible for the production and support of the urethane process.  

The hours will be: Monday - Thursday 1:30 PM - 12:00 AM 

Urethane Machine Operator – 2nd Shift

Grand Rapids

What you will need:

  • A high school diploma
  • 2+ year technical degree is a plus
  • Must be able to set up tooling and fixtures for all repeat machining and molding operations, saws, shapers and urethane metering equipment. 
  • Must be able to read and work from blueprints and use all types of measuring equipment, including precision scales for measuring calibration shots and speed-mixer formulations.
  • Experience setting up cut off saws and drill presses, and/ or de-molding – Preferred
  • Experience in machine shop or foundry environment.
  • Basic Computer Skills.  Basic competency of MS Office or related products.
  • The ability to:
    • Obtain a forklift license
    • Lift 45 lbs. floor to waist
    • Stand all day
    • Push/ Pull maximum of 200 lbs. 10 ft.
    • Reach less than 18 inches from midline both directions

What you will be doing:

  • Setting up/running all existing operations, but not limited to, Urethane Metering Machine, Saws, Shapers, and Oven while meeting quality and time requirements.
  • Maintaining calibration on urethane metering equipment.
  • Maintaining up to date work instructions for all operations.
  • Performing all Urethane secondary and conventional jobs to quality and time standards. 
  • Making all required changes and adjustments required in both tooling and programs to assure finished part quality.
  • Participating in Continuous Improvement and Suggestion System as required.

2nd shift Urethane Machine operators at Flexco can expect a starting hourly compensation of between $24.00 and $31.00, or more, depending on experience.
