Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures bodymakers are operating efficiently with required supplies available to produce aluminum cans at the highest quality standards to meet daily customer schedules.
  • Safety & Quality minded with willingness for excellence required.
  • Ensures all safety equipment, guards, and devices are in place at all times, and follows safe work procedures and safety rules.
  • Maintains housekeeping in the work area.
  • Communicate with QC when quality problems are noted and pallets are tagged.
  • Inspect finished pallets for scratches, bad litho or other quality defects.
  • Rethread strapper with banding material.
  • Enters information into a computer to generate labels for the pallets.
  • Prints tickets for pallets.
  • Place Label on pallet to indicate production and customer information.
  • Cleans banding heads.
  • Check tension on bander and fill out certification sheet to note whether bander is acceptable
  • Voids tickets not used during the shift.
  • Adds paper and change ribbon for the labeling machine.
  • Fill out paperwork for accepted or rejected pallets.
  • Reads SOP's and other workplace postings in work area.
  • Perform all other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Competencies:

  • Good oral and written communications skills. Good record keeping skills. Good listening skills. Accurate measurement capability. Ability to understand and speak basic English.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

  • Generally, works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office setting.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.
  • The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
  • The noise level is frequently loud.
