Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Banding and loading products onto trailers to be transported.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Includes the following (other duties may be documented and assigned by management, and some duties may not apply dependent upon the requirements of the position at each specific Tarter site and/or the strengths of the employee and the needs of the company):

  • Band all products In sub-bundles per forklift operator Instructions.
  • Band main bundles to poles of trailer without damage.
  • Band all loose products to poles of trailer without damage.
  • Strap load with 4" or 2" straps, provided by owner of trailer, without damage to the product.
  • Responsible for keeping up with banding tools and keeping them In good working conditions.
  • Pick up scrap banding and keep the work area clean.
  • Touch up paint (before loading on trailer - as required)
  • Maintain clean/tidy work area.
  • Stay In designated work area.
  • Work until 10 minutes before quitting time and then secure banding tools.
  • Any product damaged due to banding or strapping, report to gate counter, forklift operator, team lead, supervisor, or plant manager.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds routinely and climb up to 14' off the ground.

Knowledge, skills & abilities: Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Effective interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills required. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to work outside In all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from various cultural backgrounds in a dynamic workplace.
  • Basic knowledge of banding equipment preferred but not required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The Load Yard works In all weather conditions; this Includes rain, snow, and sleet along with extreme hot and cold temperatures.
