Job description

Material Handler

Schedule: 12 Hour Night Shifts (6:30pm-7:00am), Days worked will rotate.

Basic Purpose:

The Material Handler is responsible for picking orders and loading/unloading cases of product to and from trailers and containers, and must ensure the accuracy of all orders picked and also inspects the cases and product for quality issues. The incumbent will ensure that the appropriate materials are supplied to their assigned production areas and lines, will shrink-wrap any material to be stored / or returned to the warehouse, and will check Pallet tickets and loads for accuracy.

Essential Functions:

  • 35% Supply materials to the line
  • 35% Remove finished goods from line
  • 20% SAP Transactions
  • 10% Forklift required checks

Job Qualifications:

1. Education (Minimum Needed): High School Diploma or equivalent Demonstrated ability to understand, communicate, read, and write basic work-related English

2. Experience (Minimum Needed): The position holder must become certified to operate a forklift and pass a mandatory forklift physical

3. Specialized Knowledge Needed For Performance of Job: This position must be able to identify numerous finished products. Perform necessary SAP Transactions. Perform routine forklift checklist. Change forklift battery using proper PPE. Operate and perform hoist inspection. Assist in unloading raw materials / packaging materials. Bale plastic and cardboard and take away trash to compactor.

4. Special Skills: The incumbent will also be trained to perform various jobs within the warehouse consistent with the skill level and physical demands of the position

5. Other: Microsoft Office, Outlook, SAP

Physical requirements:

  • Rare lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ensure quality of product in all orders picked.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operating procedures.
  • Certified to operate a forklift.
