Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Property Management Professional to provide safe, stable, and well-maintained housing environments for our residents and their families. This position oversees day-to-day property operations, including rent collection, lease administration, regulatory compliance, resident relations, and record keeping.


The Property Management Professional is responsible for maintaining high occupancy rates, ensuring full compliance with federal and local housing regulations, managing leasing workflows, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role utilizes real-time property management software to drive operational performance and resident satisfaction across the community.

Responsibilities

  • Market available residential units and conduct property tours for prospective tenants.
  • Screen applicant references, collect application fees, and process background checks and income verifications.
  • Prepare, execute, and renew lease agreements in full compliance with fair housing laws and company policies.
  • Enter daily rent collections and subsidy remittances into property management software and record bank deposits accurately.
  • Review rent roll reports frequently to track collection performance, assess late fees, and issue required payment notices.
  • Coordinate eviction proceedings and legal documentation for non-payment of rent, attending court hearings as required.
  • Track annual rent increases and issue official notices to residents and housing authorities at least sixty days in advance.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and resolve lease violations prior to lease renewals.
  • Complete annual recertifications by verifying household income, asset documentation, and program eligibility criteria.
  • Process resident transfer requests, reasonable accommodation requests, and VAWA requests in conjunction with the compliance department.
  • Issue lease violations, non-renewal notices, and notices to vacate in accordance with company procedures and local legal standards.
  • Respond to resident phone calls, emails, and portal inquiries within twenty-four hours to ensure strong resident relations.
  • Assist residents with online portal navigation, fee inquiries, and maintenance chargebacks.
  • Host resident community events, lead property meetings, and foster positive tenant engagement.
  • Generate and submit accurate property management reporting, including rent rolls, vacancy loss, and accounts payable metrics.
  • Maintain complete digital records and update property operations software daily.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of residential property management, lease administration, and fair housing compliance.
  • Experience with property management software platforms such as AppFolio, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Trainual.
  • Proven track record in tenant screening, rent collection, eviction processing, and resident retention.
  • Familiarity with affordable housing, income recertification procedures, and subsidy provider guidelines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on tenant customer service and conflict resolution.
  • High level of organizational skills, detail orientation, and financial reporting accuracy.
