Job description

Job Title: Electronic Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Electronic Assembler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in assembling electronic and mechanical products, systems, and support structures using various tools and equipment. The role requires interpreting drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine assembly duties and material requirements. This position offers opportunities for career progression and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronic/mechanical products, systems, or support structures using small hand tools and soldering equipment.
  • Clean parts using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths.
  • Perform assembly operations under a microscope or other magnifying device.
  • Position and align parts in specified relationships and prepare soldering surfaces.
  • Use a variety of equipment including power supplies, multimeters, leak detection/vacuum systems, and precision hand tools.
  • Measure parts to determine tolerances using precision measuring instruments.
  • Connect component lead wires to printed circuit boards and route wires between components.
  • Assemble and attach hardware such as caps, clamps, and switches.
  • Adjust or trim materials to achieve specified characteristics.
  • Perform intermediate assembly tasks such as potting, sanding, and cleaning.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace electronic component parts to correct defects.
  • Perform go/no-go testing and inspection to ensure quality and performance.
  • Create documentation for process improvement.
  • Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan or review work activities.
  • Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure specifications are met.
  • Produce parts/products efficiently with minimal waste and rework.

Essential Skills

  • 1 or more years of electronic PCB assembly experience.
  • 1 or more years of soldering or wire harnessing experience.
  • Experience with J Standard electronic assembly using a microscope.
  • Experience in soldering, wire harnessing, and small parts assembly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of soldering experience (surface mount, through-hole).
  • 1 to 2 years of microscopic assembly experience.
  • Experience with quality standards and ESD-safe procedures.
  • Experience with SMT (surface mount) and through-hole electronic components.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to understand verbal and written instructions.

You will be working in a clean, climate-controlled environment with approximately 100 employees. The workspace is close-knit with about 5 other coworkers, focusing on precision tasks such as soldering and wiring under a microscope. The organization includes departments like Warehouse, Assembly, Engineering, Production, and Fabrication. Managers report to Human Resources at the local level.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sunbury, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
