Job description

Job Title: Lead Financial Analyst (Financial Reporting & Regulatory Strategy)
Role Overview
We are seeking an analytical and driven Lead Financial Analyst to provide value-added financial services supporting complex financial reporting, regulatory initiatives, and strategic business analysis. In this role, you will be integral in preparing financial disclosures, reviewing the impact of regulatory accounting proposals, developing analytical studies on historical and forecast data, and ensuring rigorous financial stewardship.
This is a high-impact financial role requiring strong technical accounting knowledge, professional judgment, and cross-functional collaboration. You will analyze complex financial statements, support regulatory filings, and drive continuous process improvements across finance and accounting operations. If you have a solid foundation in finance or regulatory accounting and excel at strategic decision support, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Disclosure Preparation: Lead the preparation, compilation, and review of periodic financial reports, statements, and supporting schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
• Technical Accounting Research: Research reporting issues, interpret the impact of new accounting and regulatory proposals promulgated by governing bodies, and assist with standard adoptions.
• Analytical Studies: Prepare comprehensive financial analyses, variance reports, and pro-forma models on historical and forecasted financial data.
Regulatory Finance & Business Acumen
• Regulatory Support: Support regulatory initiatives by gathering data, preparing regulatory schedules, and assisting with pro-forma calculations and data responses.
• Strategic Alignment: Demonstrate deep understanding of financial statements, key performance metrics, and economic drivers to support executive decision-making.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner collaboratively across corporate and business units to align financial strategies with operational execution.
Process Improvement & Documentation
• Quality & Documentation: Ensure full, accurate documentation of all financial work performed in strict compliance with internal quality and governance standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify, analyze, and optimize existing financial processes to maximize efficiency, streamline reporting workflows, and achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in a business discipline (Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field).
• Experience Baseline: 4+ years of professional experience in corporate finance, accounting, regulatory finance, or a related analytical field.
• Technical Mastery:
oStrong working knowledge of financial statements, variance analysis, and key financial metrics.
oProficiency in advanced PC applications, financial modeling, and data organization tools.
• Core Competencies:
oRegulatory finance acumen-understanding how financial statement changes flow through to business outcomes and earnings performance.
oStrong partnership, influencing, and decision-support skills.
oDemonstrated initiative in driving continuous process improvements.
Preferred Attributes
• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
• Multiple functional finance experience across corporate accounting and regulatory or operational finance.
• Prior experience within regulated industries, utilities, or complex corporate reporting environments.
