Operations Coordinator-Compliance

Company Summary:

Position Summary:


UTI is currently seeking qualified candidates for an Operations Coordinator-Compliance. The primary focus of this position is to provide support for the development and implementation of compliance programs for natural gas assets to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations (PHMSA, DOT, EPA).


This position will report to UTI’s corporate office in Groveport, Ohio.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Audit Support: Participate in and lead internal audits to determine program effectiveness and identify non-compliance risks.
  • Pipeline Integrity: Analyze technical records, patrol classifications, and maintenance documentation to ensure 49 CFR Part 191/192 compliance.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies and internal engineering teams to communicate changing requirements.
  • Pipeline Integrity Management: Support the implementation of Integrity Management Programs (IMP) by analyzing inspection data (e.g., "smart pig" results) to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Field Audit & Inspection: Lead or assist in operational audits and site inspections to verify that maintenance activities (e.g., pressure monitoring, odorization checks) are performed correctly and documented.
  • Incident Investigation: Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for operational failures and develop technical corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Assist with the development or revision of technical manuals for the installation and maintenance of gas systems.
  • Operator Qualification (OQ): Coordinate and document technical training and certifications for field personnel to ensure they are qualified for safety-sensitive tasks.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines simultaneously without compromising quality of work or safety
  • Discretion when dealing with confidential information
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol screening and background check




Preferred Qualifications:


  • Working knowledge and experience with 49 CFR Part 192
  • Previous gas pipeline experience
  • Engineering or Engineering Technology degree preferred
