Job description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Configure and maintain automated build and deployment pipelines, managing Jenkins plugins, and scripting pipeline logic. Write shell scripts, groovy scripts for Jenkins, and SPEL for Spinnaker and Python scripts to automate system tasks and streamline operational processes. Package applications into containers, manage Docker repositories, and orchestrate container workflows in development and production settings. Configure Spinnaker to orchestrate deployment workflows, including blue/green and canary releases, ensuring safe and reliable application rollouts. Deploy, scale, and administer containerized workloads. Oversee and optimize release orchestration processes across CCB Digital, including automation of deployment workflows. Provide strategic oversight of release orchestration to ensure integration with other business functions and alignment with CCB Digital organizational goals. Guide automated build, test, and deployment processes to enhance delivery speed and reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Designing and automating advanced services integrated into CI/CD pipelines, using Python, Starlark, and Groovy within Jenkins and custom library frameworks; Supporting the end-to-end SDLC release cycle by leveraging public cloud services such as AWS or GCP for pipelines and application deployments; Standardizing diverse pipeline formats and workflows with CD tools such as Spinnaker through development of custom scripting and library development; Implementing containerization and orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or ArgoCD, with automation and configuration managed through custom libraries and scripts; Developing full-stack applications, utilizing Python and Groovy for backend and automation tasks; Creating observability queries and monitors using Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, or Kibana, including custom integrations and alerting logic; Building, querying, and managing databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, or Cassandra, with automation and data operations scripted in Python or Groovy.
