The Resource Management Manager oversees workforce planning and scheduling processes across business lines, ensuring optimal resource alignment with financial goals and project demands. This role involves analyzing utilization data, coordinating staffing across regions, mentoring scheduling staff, and supporting strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and talent development.

Responsibilities

The Resource Manager provides support of the resource management function including, but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with LOB and/or solution set leaders and client engagement teams to understand their business needs and drive consistency across geographic locations focused on financial metrics and efficiency.

  • Effectively researches, documents, analyzes and interprets information based on expectations, adapts approach when necessary, uses problem solving and analytical skills to develop and share recommendations and solutions.

  • Generates and reviews scheduling, utilization and forecasting reports and provides analysis of the data that assists regional leadership in making staffing decisions. Identifies trends to proactively balance workloads while increasing utilization. Provides various forms of analysis including financial, profitability and exception reporting. Monitors productivity, conflicts, leverage, availability, travel and non-charge hours.

  • Coordinates resources sharing both regionally and nationally across Resource Managers/Directors, functional teams and other business units.

  • Monitor schedules to ensure staff are effectively utilized to support the achievement of financial plans for the business be reviewing available resources and facilitating necessary adjustments ensuring the alignment of resources based on experience, industry alignment, account prioritization, technical expertise and geography when appropriate.

  • Facilitate scheduling meetings as needed, including asking questions to ensure clarity when making recommendations and follow-up on unresolved issues in a timely manner that may require rescheduling of projects and/or staff.

  • Administers and participates in scheduling system and process assimilation and orientation programs for incoming new hires.

  • Proofs, edits and checks work for completeness, accuracy and formatting. Verifies that scheduling, reporting and other related information is current and accurate.

  • Implements and collaborates on development of strategies for engagement management and scheduling processes incorporating regional and functional requirements and priorities (financial, capacity, resources/FTES, growth plans, etc.)

  • Maintain workforce plan and collaborates with LOB Location/Solution Set leaders, finance and HR on variances.

  • Understands the line of business and/or solution set business needs, strategy, offerings/products and challenges; maintains a focus on supporting the goals and initiatives of each.

  • Initiates, develops and maintains communication with internal clients to be their trusted advisor adapting the expectations for timeliness, responsiveness, accuracy, service quality, thoroughness and sense of urgency.

  • Participates in talent development meetings for ECS teams, providing candid feedback based on interactions, understand individuals goals for future rotation opportunities, assignments, industry exposure, etc.

  • Serves as Performance Advisor and may oversee the daily responsibilities of LOB/Service Line Sr. Associates and Associates.

  • Utilizes, shares and develops best practices, staying up to date on market trends and upgrades of scheduling technology offerings for effectiveness. Shares constructive feedback through ERMO Leadership on process and program improvement. Participates on various firmwide RM initiatives and committees as directed.

  • Other Duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Associates Degree - Preferred or 8+ years of relevant scheduling experience Required

  • Strong Microsoft office skills, specifically with Excel

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate both verbally and written with diverse audiences at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytical, forecasting, problem solving and client service skills

  • Demonstrated ability to identify complex patterns of risk, challenges and resolves issues, makes effective recommendation on course of action, and understands when to escalate complex issues

  • Effective organization and time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks required

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to respond positively to changing circumstances, seek and implement change to drive business improvement; serve as a change agent

  • Operates with a sense of urgency

  • 5 -8 years of relevant scheduling/resource management experience or LOB/Solution Set

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Resource Management or Project Management Certifications

  • Ability to prepare presentations including charts, graphics and tables

  • Previous experience in LOB or Solution Set supporting

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $95,400 - $163,900

Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
