Job description

Job Summary:

The Resource Manager supports the Director of Resource Management in executing Financial Accounting & Advisory Services (FAAS) resource management strategy. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of scheduling, resource allocation, and utilization across the FAAS practice, ensuring optimal deployment of talent to meet client and business needs. The Resource Manager acts as a key liaison between engagement teams, practice leaders, and operations, driving process excellence and data integrity in all resource management activities.
Job Duties:

  • Scheduling & Resource Management
    • Maintains RMT (Resource Management Tool) as the single source of truth for all scheduling and resource allocation data
    • Coordinates assignment of staff to engagements, ensuring alignment with skills, competencies, and industry expertise
    • Proactively identifies and resolve scheduling conflicts and workload imbalances across teams and geographies
  • Data Quality & Reporting
    • Ensures accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data in scheduling systems
    • Distributes regular reports and providing managerial insights on utilization, capacity, billable hours, and pipeline trends for leadership review
    • Supports the Director in monitoring and analyzing resource metrics to inform strategic decisions
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Facilitates cross-practice and cross-geo collaboration, supporting integrated delivery and resource sharing
    • Communicates resource management processes, updates, and changes to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner
    • Liaises with offshore teams and external talent pools to maximize resource efficiency and reduce reliance on subcontractors
  • Process Improvement
    • Identifies opportunities for process improvement in resource management and contributes to the development and implementation of best practices
    • Drives change management initiatives led by the Director, including technology enhancements and managing workflow optimizations
  • Talent Alignment & Development
    • Assists in aligning staff assignments with individual development goals and firm priorities
    • Supports the Director in evaluating headcount needs and recommending targeted hiring or redeployment strategies
  • Systems & Tools
    • Participates in enhancing scheduling tools and dashboards in collaboration with IT and operations teams
    • Ensures data standardization and integration across platforms to support seamless resource management
    • Participates in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Director of Resource Management
    • Provides backup and support to other resource management team members as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and mentors junior resource management staff, ensuring adherence to processes, data quality standards, and effective workload distribution

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required, degree in Project Management or Business Administration, preferred

Experience:

  • Three or more years of relevant experience, required
  • Experience in a professional services firm, resource management, highly preferred

License/Certifications:

  • N/A

Software:

  • Proficient in the use of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Power BI, required
  • Experience in Oracle Project Resource Management and Smartsheet, preferred

Language:

  • N/A

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $95,000 - $120,000
Maryland Range: $95,000 - $120,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $95,000 - $120,000
