As a Staff Accountant for Creative Housing Inc., you will provide people a home by supporting the organization’s efforts to provide stable housing opportunities to as many persons as possible and promote positive public relations by safeguarding the fiscal integrity of the organization.
This position combines transactional accounting functions with senior accountant level responsibilities including month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, audit preparation, financial analysis, and internal control support. The role requires a strong understanding of nonprofit accounting, property management operations, grant and HUD compliance, and GAAP standards.
You will also have responsibilities in these areas:
• Banking & Cash Management
• Accounts Receivable & Tenant Accounting
• Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
• General Ledger
• Audit & Compliance Support
• Property Management & Operational Support
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required.
• Yardi or similar property management software proficiency required.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Typing: Minimum 36WPM
• Customer service-oriented with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
