Job description

Primary Function:

The mission of the Structural Engineer is to work with the team to deliver documents that give our clients the insights they need to build safe, affordable structures, and meet challenges with creative solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Design and analyze structures and components using software and manual calculations
  • Ensure designs, reports, and documentation are accurate and meet all relevant codes, standards, and requirements
  • Collaborate with clients and internal and external team members to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and per plan
  • Coordinate project details with the Project Manager and Production Group throughout design
  • Independently perform site visits to evaluate structural conditions
  • Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced engineers
Work Environment:
  • This is a hybrid role to be performed in our Columbus, Ohio office
  • Occasional presence on construction sites
  • Occasional travel
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years of structural experience focused on buildings
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
  • Command of the Statics and Mechanics of Structures
  • Knowledgeable of relevant building codes and standards
  • Advanced proficiency with structural design software
  • Excellent collaborative and communication skills
