Job description

As a Picking lead here at PIP Global Safety, you will be responsible for managing the picking operations within our organization. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods and materials in and out of our facility. You will report directly to our Logistics Supervisor, and you'll work out of our Groveport, OH location on an On-site work schedule.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials according to established procedures.
  • Pick and pack materials to deliver to the production line.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and regular Cycle Counts.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any material-related issues.
  • Prepare, package and ship outgoing shipments, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Be able to lift 25 pounds for job responsibilities.
  • Able to work mandatory OT as required, including weekends.
  • Ability to train new hires and coach and/or recognize staff, fostering a culture of safety and productivity.
  • Track record of improving accuracy and efficiency, including implementing best practices or Lean principles to reduce errors and delays.
  • Demonstrates reliability, integrity, and ownership, with a goal-oriented mindset and readiness to take initiative and lead by example.

CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Crouch, Kneel and Stand Regularly Throughout Shifts.
  • Ability to Stand, Walk, Bend, Extend, Reach, and Twist for Long Periods of Time.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment.
  • Experience with inventory management systems.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Excellent communication skills to relay instructions clearly to team members and collaborate with supervisors, inventory control, and logistics teams.
  • Knowledge of inventory staging, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and transfer processes, with the ability to reduce bottlenecks
  • Experience using SAP or similar WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks during high-volume periods or unexpected order spikes.
