Job description

Description
As an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, you will support production operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving industrial electrical, instrumentation, and machine-control systems. This position combines hands-on electrical maintenance with PLC troubleshooting, controls work, preventive maintenance, calibration, and equipment reliability.
You will work with a wide variety of manufacturing technologies, including Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs, motion controls, machine communication networks, HMIs, vision systems, AC/DC motors, and electro-mechanical equipment. You will also help design and implement new control systems and identify improvements that eliminate recurring equipment issues.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Associate Degree or higher, or military technical training plus manufacturing experience.
  • Industrial electrical and mechanical systems experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and update building and machine-control electrical schematics.
  • Experience bending and installing conduit up to 3/4".
  • Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and modify PLC programs.
  • Experience troubleshooting and modifying motion-control programs.
  • Experience troubleshooting machine communication networks, including:
    • DeviceNet
    • ControlNet
    • Profibus
    • Ethernet
    • DH+
    • ASI
  • Experience with material web-guide systems.
  • Experience with CIJ printing systems.
  • Experience with ultrasonic bonding technologies.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, chart recorders, and thermal imaging cameras.
  • Strong analytical troubleshooting skills.

Requirements:
  • Follow all plant safety procedures, including LOTO and arc-flash requirements.
  • Maintain accurate electrical schematics.
  • Design, install, and implement new control systems.
  • Redesign equipment and controls to eliminate recurring problems.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and systems, including:
    • Web guiding
    • Dust collection
    • Metal detection
    • Elastic unwind
    • Ultrasonic bonding
    • CIJ printing
    • Machine communication networks
    • Stretch wrapping
    • Spooling/despooling
    • Hotmelt adhesive systems
    • Packaging equipment
    • AC/DC motor systems
  • Troubleshoot Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC programs.
  • Troubleshoot motion-control programs.
  • Troubleshoot HMI, marquee, and vision-inspection hardware.
  • Perform repairs, calibration, and preventive maintenance on electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Support machinery and equipment across multiple manufacturing processes.
  • Perform daily electrical audits.
  • Represent the E&I team in safety meetings as needed.
