Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Sales Engineer with a strong background in mechatronics, motion control, and industrial automation. This role is responsible for driving sales of servo systems, PLC platforms, and robotic solutions by leveraging technical expertise to support customers throughout the sales cycle-from concept through implementation along withย continuing to discover new opportunities within the same customer base.ย  ย The ideal candidate combines engineering knowledge with strong commercial acumen to position complex automation solutions, build trusted relationships, and deliver measurable business value.ย 

Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM

Salary Range: $95,000 to $135,000 commensurate with experience in addition to a generous commission plan

Work Location: Brockton, MA/Local Hybrid (regional territory - flexible based on role)

What a day in this role looks like:

  • Strong understanding of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering principles, with the ability to apply theoretical and practical knowledge to realworld engineering challenges.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams, working closely with mechanical, electrical, and control engineers to solve complex, integrated engineering problems.
  • Provide application engineering support, including system sizing and integration strategiesย 
  • Conduct technical presentations, demos, and training sessionsย aligned to Rockwell platformsย 
  • Drive sales growth for servo motion systems, PLC platforms, and complete automation solutions
  • Identify opportunities within existing installed base and competitive environmentsย ย 
  • Engage OEMs, SI's, and end users to identify and develop application opportunitiesย 
  • Develop & present complete automation solutions, system architectures and product selectionย 
  • Collaborate with Rockwell Ecosystem partners, internal specialists and sales to deliver complete, customer-aligned solutionsย 
  • Maintain opportunity pipeline and forecast accuracy within available CRM toolsย 
  • Stay current on emerging automation technologies and industry trendsย 

What we are looking for you to bring to us:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, mechatronics, robotics or related

OR minimum 4+ years of technical sales experience in industrial automationย 

  • Experience with servo systems, PLC platforms, and robotics applicationsย 
  • Strong ability to translate technical concepts into business valueย 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skillsย 

Preferredย 

  • Experience with major automation platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, ABB, FANUC, etc.)ย 
  • Experience in linear actuation, gearbox and system sizing to meet performance requirements
  • Background in system integration or machine designย 
  • Understanding of industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus, BACnet,etc.)ย
