WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm schedule working in a busy Cardiology practice
In person position. Small, team-oriented office environment; independent work skills preferred
Enjoywork life balance with consistent day shift schedule and observed holidays off work. Periodic evening and Saturday shifts may be scheduled to support operational needs
Prepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas, including cleaning, sanitizing, and stocking supplies to ensure patient readiness
Support efficient patient flow by rooming patients, obtaining medical histories, vital signs, medication reconciliation, EKGs, and point-of-care testing as directed
Accurately document patient care, communications, and clinical activities in EPIC EMR and other required systems
Assist providers with procedures, patient communication, referrals, prior authorizations, appointment scheduling, and coordination of testing and follow-up care
Build and maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff while delivering high-quality care within the Medical Assistant scope of practice
QUALIFICATIONS
Required High School Diploma/GED
Required Program Medical Assisting
In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience-Required
Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association- within 90 days of hire
For an MA, you must have one of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Allied Health or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Registry of Medical Assistants or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) - National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Performance Specialists (NPS)
