Key responsibilities

  • Provides diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology and vestibular/balance function services, including assessments for patients of all ages.

  • Evaluates and fits hearing systems, including basic and computerized devices, and collaborates with medical specialists on ear disease manifestations.

  • Participates in patient education, communicates hearing services information, and maintains hearing conservation and ototoxic monitoring programs.


Job description

  • Provides a range of diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology and vestibular/balance function services in the Memorial ENT practice, encompassing basic and comprehensive audiological and balance function assessments for patients of all ages, including pediatric patients
  • Evaluation and fitting of basic and computerized hearing systems
  • Collaboration with medical specialists regarding audiologic, dizziness and balance manifestations of ear disease
  • Conducts physiologic, electrophysiologic and behavioral assessments of auditory sensitivity and balance function for out-patients
  • Serves as expert in acoustic, electroacoustic and physical characteristics of amplification systems in geriatric, pediatric and difficult to test populations, including administration of diagnostic testing and development of treatment and therapy programs for patients in conjunction with physicians
  • Serves in advisory role to general practice physicians for audiological, dizziness and balance manifestations of ear disease and non-medical treatment options
  • Participates in and maintains hearing conservation and ototoxic monitoring programs
  • Communicates hearing services information to public by implementing hearing health programs
  • Actively participates in training and education of medical students and audiology students
  • Makes recommendations to the patient and family/caregiver; Involves family members and significant other in the process
  • Provides kindness and consideration in meeting the needs for patient
  • Keeps current on new legislative information, new procedures and safety information to provide a safe patient care environment

Actively participates in community outreach programs providing supportive and networking services

Ability and willingness to regularly travel between all outpatient clinic locations

Performs other duties as required or assigned

What You'll Bring/Requirements:

Master’s degree in Audiology or Clinical doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) required, Licensure by the Ohio Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology required; certification or certification eligibility by ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association) or American Academy of Audiology required; experience as a staff audiologist strongly desired.
