Job description

What External Reporting contributes to Cardinal Health Finance oversees the accounting, tax, financial plans and policies of the organization, establishes and maintains fiscal controls, prepares and interprets financial reports, oversees financial systems and safeguards the organization's assets. SEC Reporting is responsible for the preparation and review of financial information to be released outside of the organization as well as for the research, interpretation, and communication of complex accounting matters. The position requires strong project management capabilities, technical accounting knowledge, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence across functions.

Responsibilities Responsible for leading implementation projects for upcoming disclosure requirements (i.e., DISE). Provides accounting guidance to business partners related to proposed transactions to ensure conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as company policies and procedures. Develop and manage project plans, milestones, deliverables, timelines, risks, and stakeholder communications

Coordinate cross-functional teams to evaluate current reporting processes, identify gaps, and design future-state solutions as it relates to the adoption of accounting standards updates. Conducts research regarding the impact to financial statements of potential changes to accounting rules proposed by accounting standards setters and advises management regarding the same. Ensures all SEC reports and disclosures comply with applicable government regulations, professional standards, and organizational policies.

Prepares and reviews consolidated financial statements and all other required disclosures to maintain compliance with the SEC and GAAP. Coordinates cross-functionally, including with Finance and Investor Relations, to update the MD&A (Management's Discussion & Analysis) sections of the Form 10-Q/10-K. Assists in the management of the monthly financial close process, including reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and performing timely review of results for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP.

Oversees work conducted by outsourced staffand maintains the integrity of accounting records by ensuring that outsourced staff comply with accounting policies and procedures. Effectively partners withoutsourced staffto take necessary course correcting actions. Is able tostrategically and effectively identify improvement opportunities and identifies the appropriate tools, approach, and cross functional involvement to execute on opportunities that are identified.

Qualifications Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent work experience, preferred 5+ years experience in related field, public accounting or SEC reporting experience, preferred Supervisory or Managerial experience with direct reports, preferred CPA preferred What is expected of you and others at this level Is able tocommunicate effectively and efficiently to all levels within the organization. Is adept at identifying and responding to internal control and financial statement risk. Effectively responds to and mitigates risk and concludes on the effectiveness of relatedmitigation efforts.

Has a level of understanding of digital tools to identify use cases and to support the design, development, and implementation of related solutions. Holds self and others accountable for goals and results while bringing passion, determination and grit to deliver on results. Owns the result rather than only the process to get to the result, exhibits big picture thinking, prioritizes appropriately, and collaborates well with others.
