Job description

The Project Manager is responsible for leading construction projects from preconstruction through closeout while maintaining Thompson Concreteโ€™s standards for safety, quality, schedule, communication, and financial performance. This position works closely with owners, general contractors, project teams, field leadership, vendors, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure each project is planned, coordinated, and executed successfully.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, procurement, execution, and closeout.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, general contractors, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team members.
  • Coordinate closely with superintendents and field leadership to support manpower planning, equipment needs, material deliveries, production goals, jobsite logistics, and schedule commitments.
  • Review project documents, scopes of work, drawings, specifications, contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project correspondence.
  • Track project costs, labor production, budgets, forecasts, billing, change management, and financial performance.
  • Lead project meetings, communicate project status, identify risks early, and develop practical solutions that keep the project moving forward.
  • Support Thompson Concreteโ€™s safety culture by ensuring jobsite teams have the planning, information, and resources needed to work safely.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality and ensure that work is completed in accordance with project requirements, company expectations, and The Thompson Way.

Qualifications
  • Experience managing commercial construction projects, preferably in concrete, structural concrete, foundations, site concrete, or related specialty trade work.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, schedules, scopes of work, and project documentation.
  • Ability to manage budgets, costs, production tracking, change orders, contracts, and project financials.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build trust with field teams, clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal departments.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and changing project needs.
  • Proficiency with construction management software, Microsoft Office, scheduling tools, and project documentation systems.
