  • Employee consultation: Cultivate trusted relationships with employees by providing thoughtful, consistent advice and counsel.
  • Casework: Process and manage a caseload of employee complaints and disputes, from intake through resolution, in compliance with established procedures.
  • Investigations: Conduct or support investigations into workplace complaints and concerns, gathering facts, interviewing relevant parties, and documenting findings for review by the HR Business Partner Manager.
  • Manager consultation: Consult with people leaders on day-to-day employee relations matters, including performance management, attendance, and policy interpretation, to enhance working relationships and productivity.
  • Policy guidance: Provide credible, consistent advice on the interpretation and application of Gifthealth's HR policies and procedures.
  • Documentation: Draft disciplinary and performance-related correspondence, and maintain accurate, confidential case records.
  • Terminations and leaves: Review and support employee terminations and leave-of-absence matters to help ensure compliance with state and federal law and company policy.
  • Research: Research employment law, case law, and best practices to support the development of new or updated HR policies and programs.
  • Trend spotting: Track case data and flag emerging employee relations trends or risk areas to the HR Business Partner Manager.
  • Training support: Help develop and deliver training for managers and employees on employee relations topics and policy updates.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in employee relations or a closely related HR role.
  • Industry: Previous experience in healthcare or a healthcare-adjacent industry preferred.
  • Certification: PHR or SHRM-CP a plus.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Analytical ability: Ability to identify trends in case data and recommend practical, proactive solutions.
  • Tools: Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Experience with Employee Relations case software (AllVoices) a plus.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work independently across multiple open cases while building trust with employees and managers at all levels.
