About the Columbus Partnership

The Columbus Partnership is a nonprofit organization of CEOs from Columbus’ leading businesses and institutions. Through our membership and other ally organizations across Central Ohio, the Partnership upholds a shared vision to make Columbus the most prosperous region in the country.

The Columbus Partnership also includes One Columbus, one of the nation’s top economic development teams that serves the 11-county Columbus Region; and Smart Columbus, a civic innovation lab that advances what is new and next at the intersection of technology and community good.

Can you imagine Columbus as the most prosperous region in the United States, where more and more people are able to improve their economic and social well-being? We do, every day.

The Role

The executive assistant is a key member of the Columbus Partnership team, providing high-level support to the president and CEO and the senior leadership team. This role serves as a trusted partner, enabling executive leaders and the organization to operate at peak effectiveness by managing priorities, coordinating initiatives and ensuring seamless day-to-day execution.

The position focuses on executive operations, complex scheduling and logistics, board and stakeholder coordination, and special projects that advance strategic priorities. This opportunity is ideal for a proactive, highly organized professional who thrives at the intersection of strategy, operations and relationship management.

Reports to: President and CEO

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

CEO and Senior Leadership Support

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the CEO and executive leadership team, including calendar management, meeting preparation, travel coordination, correspondence, expense reporting and other activities to maximize effectiveness.
  • Anticipate needs by proactively managing priorities, resolving scheduling conflicts, conducting research, preparing briefing materials and assembling background documents.
  • Ensure senior leaders are prepared for meetings, events and engagements through timely coordination and high-quality support materials.
  • Handle highly confidential information with discretion, professionalism and integrity.

Board, Stakeholder and Event Coordination

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for multiple executive committees and boards of directors, including scheduling meetings, preparing and distributing materials, maintaining records and coordinating communications.
  • Coordinate executive travel, organizational events and stakeholder engagements with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Support communication and engagement with business leaders, community partners and other stakeholders through timely, accurate and professional correspondence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with executive assistants at community and stakeholder organizations, board members, staff and business leaders.

Strategic Projects and Organizational Support

  • Research, prepare and edit reports, presentations, briefing materials, correspondence and other documents to support executive decision-making.
  • Support the implementation of strategic initiatives and special projects by tracking progress, managing follow-up, monitoring deadlines and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
  • Coordinate across departments and with senior leadership to facilitate communication, manage workflows and drive efficient execution of organizational priorities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum of five years of experience providing executive support, preferably to C-suite leaders in a multi-faceted, fast-paced, and excellence driven environment requiring high professionalism.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint).

Key Skills and Experience

  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex calendars, priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft professional correspondence, reports, presentations and briefing materials.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating high-level meetings, board activities, events and travel arrangements with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion, sound judgment and professionalism.
  • Proactive problem-solver who anticipates needs, identifies issues and resolves them independently or escalates appropriately.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with executive leaders, board members, stakeholders and external partners.
  • Experience supporting strategic initiatives, tracking projects, monitoring deadlines and coordinating cross-departmental efforts.
  • High degree of adaptability, flexibility and composure under pressure.
  • Applies a service-oriented mindset to daily work and values continuous improvement.
  • A passion for the Columbus Region.

Workplace Environment

  • Some travel around the Columbus Region will be required.
  • The Columbus Partnership is an in-person work environment based in Downtown Columbus.
  • Work hours are generally 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. or 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Must be available to work occasional off-hours; events and meetings will involve some early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • May be required to work more than 8 hours during a workday as deadlines demand.

We Offer

  • A front-row leadership seat impacting our community’s future.
  • Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage.
  • Generous paid time off, parental leave and holidays.
  • A 401(k) plan with an exceptional employer contribution.
  • Professional development support.
  • A modern downtown office with free parking.
  • A high-impact, mission-driven team that’s doing big things for the Columbus Region.
