Troy 7 Inc. Apprentice (Fixed Term) Overview
The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance and Engineering (TFOME) contract at the NASA Glenn ResearchCenter provides engineering and technical services in the aeropropulsion and space propulsion and power testfacilities. We are currently seeking an Instrument Maker Technician Apprentice. The Instrument Maker Apprentice is an entry level position that will train under journeyman level techniciansfor a total of 8000 hours of on the job training in order to complete requirements for the state of Ohio andNASA's Journeymanship program. Responsibilities * The apprentice will train under journeyman level technicians for a total of 8,000 on the job training hoursin order to complete the state of Ohio andNASA's Apprenticeship program.
* Apprentices will be taught specialized technical skills to perform fabrication and assembly of intricateinstrumenation hardware used in research test facilities at the NASAGlenn Research Center. Qualifications * Candidates must be currently enrolled or have successfully completed a two (2) year Associate degreeprogram in Precision Machining Technology, Manfacturing Technology or Mechanical EngineeringTechnology from an accredited Technical College.
* Must be willing to complete 8,000 of on the job training as part of the requirements of the Apprenticeshipprogram.
* Candidates will be required to demonstrate competency over the course of the program in order toqualify for on-going employment.
* Must be able to communicate and work well in a team environment.
* Capable of following directions and utilizing time wisely for the maximum efficiency on assigned worktasks.
* Must be safety conscience at all times.
