    Job description

What if you could redefine what's possible? With us, you can.

You want purpose. Growth. Opportunity. People who get it. At WSP, you'll be part of a global community of professionals working together to protect people, projects, information, and the communities we serve.

    The Opportunity

We are looking for a Corporate Security Specialist to support the development and administration of WSP's Corporate Security Program, excluding cybersecurity/IT and facility security. In this role, you will contribute to security services for Government of Canada and defence-related projects, working closely with the Senior Manager, Emergency, Crisis and Security.

This is a highly confidential and compliance-focused role where you will help strengthen WSP's security practices, support contract security obligations, and advise internal stakeholders on security requirements, documentation, processes, and risk mitigation.

    Your Impact

Participate in corporate security risk assessments and help identify opportunities to improve WSP's security program.

Contribute to the development of short-, mid-, and long-term security objectives based on completed risk assessments.

Work closely with WSP's Corporate Security Officer and act as back-up when required.

Support security requirements related to Government of Canada and defence client work, including contract security obligations.

Help ensure compliance with the Government of Canada Contract Security Program, including personnel security clearances, Requests for Visits, Security Requirements Checklists, project threat and risk assessments, safeguarding of information and assets, and secure zone management.

Support security coordinators and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with security regulations and requirements.

Prepare, track, and audit security-related documentation for contracts, subcontracts, site visits, and project requirements.

Participate in project start-up meetings and deliver security briefings when required.

Provide training, advice, and guidance to employees and leaders on security matters and best practices.

Collaborate with teams across HR, IT, operations, and compliance to support an integrated approach to security and asset protection.

Assess physical security risks, investigate security incidents, and recommend corrective or preventive actions.

Monitor emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies to help maintain the relevance and effectiveness of security programs.

The Skills That Set You Apart

Bachelor's degree in a related field.

6 to 8 years of experience in a similar highly confidential role.

Strong knowledge of security regulations, standards, and best practices.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

Ability to take initiative, work independently, and remain focused on both new responsibilities and recurring tasks.

Government of Canada Level II Secret security clearance, or eligibility to obtain one, is a condition of employment.

Ability to obtain other security clearances, as required.

Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to quickly learn internal HSE platforms.
