Job description

Code Enforcement Officer

Join a team that's envisioning the future of building & safety!

For nearly 60 years, Willdan Engineering has been a trusted partner to cities and counties across the nation, delivering innovative solutions in building & safety and public services. Now, we're seeking full-time code enforcement officers in the Bowman, SC area to help ensure safe, vibrant, and thriving communities.

What you'll do:

  • Patrol assigned areas with the team and monitor vendor activity for compliance with city/county codes.
  • Educate vendors on permit requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Issue warnings, notices of violation, and citations as appropriate.
  • Respond to community complaints regarding vendor activity in a professional manner.
  • Document inspections and enforcement actions, including reports and photos.
  • Collaborate with teammates, local law enforcement, health departments, and city officials as needed.

What we're looking for:

  • 2+ years of experience in code enforcement or law enforcement.
  • Certification as a code enforcement officer (or ability to obtain).
  • PC 832 (or equivalent law enforcement certification).
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written).
  • Ability to work in the field and interact with the public.
