Security Engineering

  • Lead technical delivery and lifecycle management for physical security applications, servers, middleware, databases, and related infrastructure.

  • Review and approve solution architecture, technical designs, system configurations, and implementation approaches.

  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise IT, cybersecurity, risk, regulatory, and operational requirements.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions aligned with Vanguard's enterprise security strategy and architecture standards.

  • Establish and maintain engineering standards, reference architectures, configuration baselines, and technical documentation.

Implementation, Integration & Automation

  • Lead the deployment, configuration, upgrade, and integration of physical security technologies across global locations.

  • Provide technical oversight for access control, video management, intrusion detection, visitor management, and connected security devices.

  • Design, develop, and support APIs, interfaces, and automated workflows between physical security platforms and enterprise systems, including identity and HR services, network services, databases, and service management tools.

  • Coordinate implementation activities with internal technology teams, Global Security stakeholders, and authorized third-party partners.

  • Lead the design and implementation of cloud-enabled, API-driven, and automated security technology solutions that improve scalability, resiliency, and operational efficiency.

  • Validate solutions through structured testing, technical acceptance, and production-readiness reviews.

Operational Reliability & Support

  • Serve as the senior technical escalation point for global physical security applications, integrations, and supporting services.

  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues across application, database, operating system, middleware, and network layers.

  • Lead root cause analysis and drive sustainable corrective and preventive actions.

  • Engineer for availability, resilience, recoverability, performance, and supportability.

  • Support incident, problem, change, release, and configuration management processes.

  • Maintain accurate system inventories, support procedures, architecture artifacts, and operational documentation.

Modernization & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor developments in physical security, cloud, automation, cybersecurity, and enterprise technology.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve quality, reliability, security, efficiency, and user experience.

  • Lead or contribute to platform modernization, lifecycle remediation, and technology migration initiatives.

  • Participate in system testing, validation, control assessments, and lifecycle inspections.

  • Develop reusable engineering practices, mentor engineers, and promote technical excellence through knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Global Security, application, infrastructure, network, database, cloud, cybersecurity, identity, and service management teams.

  • Provide technical direction during project planning, design reviews, upgrades, migrations, and operational transitions.

  • Translate complex technical topics into clear impacts, risks, options, and recommendations for stakeholders and leadership.

  • Manage technical dependencies and coordinate delivery with product vendors, service providers, and authorized security integrators.

  • Contribute to special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

QualificationsRequired

  • Minimum of eight years of related experience, including at least three years supporting system integrations, automation, software development, or scripting solutions.

  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • Experience with enterprise physical security platforms such as Genetec Security Center, Software House CCURE, enterprise video management systems, Envoy Visitor Management, or similar technologies.

  • Demonstrated experience engineering and supporting enterprise applications in complex, highly available environments.

  • Working knowledge of application architecture, APIs, databases, operating systems, networks, authentication, and cybersecurity controls.

  • Experience leading technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and lifecycle or modernization initiatives.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Graduate degree.

  • Relevant technical, cloud, cybersecurity, networking, or physical security certifications.

  • Experience integrating physical security systems with identity, HR, IT service management, asset management, or monitoring platforms.

  • Experience working with global teams, vendors, and systems integrators in a regulated enterprise environment.
