The Summit Area YMCA (SAY), is seeking and motivated Personal Trainers to join our Wellness Team and help members achieve their health and fitness goals. In this role, you'll design and deliver safe, effective, and engaging workouts inspiring others to move, grow, and thrive.


This part-time position offers flexibility with the opportunity to train multiple sessions per week. Trainers will work at both the Summit YMCA and Berkeley Heights YMCA during branch operating hours.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and deliver individualized training programs tailored to members' goals, abilities, and preferences
  • Provide safe, effective instruction and proper exercise demonstrations
  • Motivate and encourage members through positive reinforcement and accountability
  • Maintain accurate client records and update schedules in MindBody
  • Respond promptly to new client inquiries and training leads
  • Model professionalism in appearance and conduct; uphold YMCA values and policies
  • Ensure a safe and welcoming environment by following all safety and emergency procedures
  • Maintain current certifications and attend required staff meetings and trainings

Salary & Benefits:

Compensation range for this role is $28.00 - 45.00/hour, based on education & experience. This Part Time position is scheduled to work up to 25 hours per week.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A valid national Personal Trainer Certification (ACSM,NASM, NSCA or ACE) and/ or a degree in exercise related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Ability to properly demonstrate correctly demonstrate the required movements associated with training.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Be knowledgeable about health & fitness field including current trends and safety issues.
