    About Stripe
    Stripe, LLC. is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.
    What you'll do
    Responsibilities
    • Build scalable and reliable backend services, webhooks and public-facing APIs;
    • Write high-quality, maintainable code to reliably process and evaluate data signals in real-time, solving complex problems at scale;
    • Take ownership of medium-sized technical projects, translating requirements and constraints into reliable, secure, and explainable system architectures;
    • Actively contribute to the team's on-call rotation, effectively debugging, operating, and maintaining high-visibility systems using established runbooks and best practices;
    • Engage directly with product teams to understand internal and external user pain points, using those insights to build the right solutions and help inform the team's roadmap.
    Who you are
    Minimum requirements
    Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 3 years of related work experience in Software Engineering.
    In the alternative, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 5 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience in Software Engineering.
    Must also have 3 years of experience in each of the following:
    • Programming languages including Java, Ruby, Python and Go;
    • Building scalable and reliable backend services, webhooks and public-facing APIs;
    • Designing, building, and deploying distributed backend services in a production environment, including handling concurrency, fault tolerance, and service reliability at scale;
    • Working with relational databases in Postgre SQL, MySQL or NoSQL data stores, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling for high-throughput workloads;
    • Stream processing or event-driven architectures in Kafka, Kinesis, or equivalent, including producing, consuming, and reliably processing high-volume data streams;
    • Translate product and engineering requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable system designs, including defining service boundaries, failure modes, and observability strategies;
    • Building automated systems or tooling to instrument, measure, and evaluate the end-to-end customer experience of digital products, including test automation frameworks, signal collection pipelines, or quality evaluation workflows;
    • Developing interactive frontend components, dashboards, or data reports using React and D3.js to visualize customer behavior, product metrics, and operational signals in real time.
