JOB SUMMARY:
This position is for a technical lead position with Java development and Web Services knowledge for the complete system rewrites of Logistics related Project at Laufer group International. They will be functioning as the Technical lead and also be involved in the design, analysis, new development, coding, unit testing and will interacting with the project manager, QA, User Group as well other team members within the organization. Global logistics knowledge on IBM Platforms would be a major plus.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A.
Responsibilities:
- Software development of Java application and/or system components- Software design and review plus strong knowledge of the full SDLC- Requirements definition and analysis- Unit testing of developed code- Investigation and root cause analysis of software and system defects- Maintain and run tools and processes that support and automate software product release
Requirements for Sr. Java Software Engineer:
  • Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science, or equivalent experience or qualification
  • 7+ years of engineering experience in JVM based secure web applications
  • Expert level coding skills in front & back-end Java
  • Java EE and/or JVM based secure web applications, LDAP
  • Experience in designing scalable web services.
  • Strong foundational knowledge and experience with JMS
  • Experience in deploying J2EE applications with any of the following IBM WebSphere7.0 or later
  • Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Excellent team player with the ability to work within a collaborative environment
  • Creative, resourceful and innovative problem solver
  • Mentor and coach other team members
  • Experience with an IDE such as Eclipse, RAD or WDSC
  • Great communication skills, including active listening and comprehending system requirements

Desired Skills for Sr. Java Software Engineer:
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and release management tools
  • Good knowledge of SCM tools including Git, subversion, JIRA
  • Familiar with SOA, DB2, SQL, JDBC, (IBM development).
  • Spring Framework, Hibernate, Core Java
  • HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JSON, Ajax, JQuery, JSP, JSTL, Tiles2
  • Proficiency in working in OS400/Unix/Linux environment
  • Knowledge of scripting languages
  • Self-taught and self-teaching, with a demonstrated aptitude for acquiring knowledge and skills
