Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) is a publicly traded (NYSE:PEG) diversified energy company headquartered in New Jersey, and one of the ten largest electric companies in the U.S. PSEG is looking for an Engineering Intern for the Newark team within Projects and Construction for Electrical and Civil Engineers This job involves working as an engineer in the Projects and Construction team, utilizing a broad knowledge of business and engineering principles and practices acquired through previous coursework and on the job training.
    This position will be in person at our headquarters in Newark, NJ.
    Job Responsibilities
    • Assignments may include but are not limited to: Civil Design - Assist in analyzing equipment and environmental loads, preparing drawings and calculations for foundations and steel supports Civil Project Engineering - Assist in reviewing civil calculations and drawings, procuring engineering services and materials, while communicating between project and design teams. Electrical Layout Design - Assist in preparing Key Plan Drawings, substation and control house layout drawings Protection and Controls - Assist in creating and maintaining engineering controls drawings (Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, etc) Electrical Project Engineering - Assist in reviewing calculations and drawings, procuring engineering services and materials

    Job Specific Qualifications
    Required Education/Skills: The successful candidate(s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering (Electrical or Civil). PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Candidates must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration. Because this position will require traveling to various PSEG locations, a valid driver's license and a safe driving record is required.
    Preferred: 3.0 GPA Preferred: Familiarity with design, drafting or engineering software such as AutoCAD Desire to pursue a career in the energy industry For Civil Engineering Majors - Interest or concentration in Structural or Geotechnical For Electrical Engineering Majors - interest or concentration in Power Systems
