Job description

Description:
The Assistant Operator - Paper Bag Machine plays a crucial role in the efficient and safe operation of paper bag manufacturing equipment. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to quality control. The Assistant Operator should have a solid understanding of machine operation, production processes, and packaging and labeling procedures, working collaboratively within a team to meet production targets.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the setup and operation of paper bag machines, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Monitor the production line, identifying and addressing any operational issues.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting, utilizing hand tools as needed.
  • Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Assist with packaging and labeling of finished products, maintaining accurate records.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, practicing proper housekeeping procedures.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and deadlines, demonstrating effective teamwork.
  • Utilize forklift truck for material handling and warehousing tasks, as required.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding production status and any issues.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to machine operation and material handling.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of machine operation principles.
  • General knowledge of production processes and quality control procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand English language instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Basic mathematics skills for calculations related to production and measurements.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with packaging and labeling procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically within a paper bag production setting.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Experience with forklift truck operation.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a production line environment. Additional Desired Skills: Management, Problem Solving, Communication
