Job description

Printpack Bloomington is looking for a candidate to fill a Material Handler position on a Monday-Thursday day shift (7AM-7PM).
An ideal applicant is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. Good attendance is a must.

The Material Handler ensures the safe, efficient, timely, and accurate movement of materials and product throughout the plant to support production and plant operations.

This position will work a night shift (7AM-7PM Mon-Thur) for a total of 48 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have a general understanding of rack numbering systems, tags, raw materials, and WIP
  • Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts to move materials
  • Operate stretch wrap machine and banding equipment
  • Perform routine safety inspections of lift equipment
  • Supply department with materials in a timely fashion such that machine downtime is avoided
  • Perform daily housekeeping chores such as sweeping and 5S activities as time permits
  • Document inventory locations usinghandheldelectronic devices

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Stable work history

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong time management skills and ability to follow instructions
  • 1-3 years experience of material handling and use of forklifts (stand-up & sit-down), pallet jacks, powered pallet jacks, or related equipment is preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to climb, kneel, bend, squat
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to wear PPE including but not limited to hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses

Internal Requirements:

  • Must demonstrate Core Values
  • Must be in good standing with no disciplinary action or attendance issues
  • Performer or higher on last performance review
