Job description

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on HR Manager to lead the launch of our new automotive parts manufacturing plant in Jackson, GA. As a founding member of the local leadership team, you will be responsible for the complete design and execution of the HR function from the ground up. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a "greenfield" environment and is capable of building scalable HR systems while managing day-to-day operations.

- Develop and implement the company’s initial Employee Handbook, policies, and procedures ensuring 100% compliance with Federal and Georgia State labor laws (FLSA, FMLA, EEOC, etc.).

- Design and administer Compensation & Benefits (C&B) programs, including market-competitive salary structures and the selection of 401(k), health, and life insurance providers.

- Establish an HR Information System (HRIS) and payroll processing workflows.

[Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning]

- Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts to staff the entire facility, including leadership, office personnel, and high-volume production staff.

- Develop local recruitment strategies and partnerships with Georgia’s "Quick Start" program, local technical colleges, and community organizations.

- Create a robust onboarding and orientation experience to establish a strong "Safety-First" and high-performance culture.

[Employee Relations & Operational Excellence]

- Serve as the primary advisor to management on employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution.

- Partner with the operations team to ensure OSHA compliance and workplace safety standards.

- Manage office administration and facility-related HR tasks during the initial setup phase.

Requirements

- Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR experience. Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is required.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Technical Skills: * Proven experience in a Greenfield (Startup) environment setting up HR departments from scratch.

o Expert knowledge of US labor laws and HR best practices.

o Proficiency in HRIS and Payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or SAP).

- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, independent problem-solving skills, and the ability to navigate the ambiguity of a new business launch.

- SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification.

- Direct experience in the Automotive Tier 1/2 manufacturing industry.

- Experience in the Georgia labor market and familiarity with local networking/recruiting channels.
