Job description

SUMMARY the Quality Control Function to insure all pipe shipped meets or exceeds company specifications and standards. Personally, or through subordinates, inspects plastic pipe and fittings while in process and finished stages. Makes routing decisions on acceptance of these products using standard procedures and instruments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Schedule and assign work to subordinates.

2. Train subordinate in the inspection and quality process.

3. Oversee all quality testing of pipe.

4. Investigate and recommend resolution to customer complaints.

5. Oversee all QA record keeping.

6. Completes various quality reports as necessary or as directed and makes recommendations on process improvements.

7. Participates in or leads quality projects.

8. Determines the quality of finished goods for shipment and returned goods for acceptance to stock.

9. Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed.

10. Heads ISO as the ISO Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelors Degree from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience in production of product, experience working in QC management functions.

COMPUTER SKILLS Possess intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Internet/Intranet and AS400 experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Abilities to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.

7. Hear and understand all verbal communication whether it is face to face or via telephone.

8. See and understand all written communication.

9. Ability to confirm by sight quality level of raw materials and products produced to determine acceptance and/or denial of each.

10. Climb and descend all ladders or steps whether fixed or portable on company facilities in order to inspect pipe and raw materials.

11.Push and / or pull up to 2500 pounds up to 30 feet with the aid of material handling equipment.

12. Walking through, under and around equipment with a clearance of 30".

13.Ability to grasp tools (manual as well as powered) and use them in accordance with a safe working manner so as not to injure yourself or fellow employees, i.e., power saws, drills, hammers, presses, latches, etc.

14.Sight capability to safely operate at arms length machinery and power and I or hand tools needed to accomplish the requirements of the job assignments for this position.
