Job Title: Senior Molding Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Libertyville, IL (Onsite)
 

Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Molding Manufacturing Engineer to support and optimize injection molding operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in process optimization, mold troubleshooting, scientific molding, and validation activities to improve quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for injection molding processes and ensure stable operations.
  • Troubleshoot mold, material, and process issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
  • Lead mold qualifications and process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Optimize setup times, cycle times, and process parameters to improve productivity.
  • Support FAT/SAT activities for new molds and equipment.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare validation protocols, technical documentation, and reports.
  • Train production and maintenance personnel on molding processes and best practices.
  • Travel to Europe as needed for project support, equipment transfers, and supplier qualifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in injection molding process engineering.
  • Strong expertise in mold troubleshooting, process optimization, and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Hands-on experience with scientific molding principles and analytical tools such as DOE, SPC, and Six Sigma.
  • Familiarity with FAT/SAT and equipment qualification processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional manufacturing environment.

Preferred: Experience in regulated manufacturing environments and global equipment transfer projects.
