    The Finance Manager supports the Finance Department by performing a broad range of accounting, cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliation, reporting, and month-end close activities. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and providing financial support to hotel operations. The Finance Manager works closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, Events, Front Office, Food & Beverage, Purchasing, and other departments to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and efficient business operations.

    Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Support daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting activities.

    Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, deposit forfeitures, commissions, taxes, statistical journals, and other month-end adjustments.

    Prepare account reconciliations, supporting schedules, financial reports, and audit documentation.

    Review general ledger accounts and assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies.

    Research, troubleshoot, and analyze financial variances and posting errors.

    Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, audits, and special projects as assigned.

    Prepare daily revenue reports and analyze hotel revenues against expected results.

    Accounts Receivable & Revenue Review

    Support accounts receivable activities, including account setup, cash application, aging reviews, collections follow-up, and payment verification.

    Review and reconcile event billing, cancellation fees, attrition fees, and guest billing activity.

    Verify charges posted through hotel operating systems and ensure billing accuracy.

    Monitor outstanding balances and assist with collection efforts.

    Analyze revenue activity and ensure transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.

    Reconciliations & Month-End Close

    Complete assigned account reconciliations, including:

    Cash accounts

    Deposits

    Parking revenue

    Audio-visual revenue

    Entertainment revenue

    Other balance sheet and income statement accounts

    Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.

    Review tax-exempt documentation and other supporting records for accuracy and compliance.

    Maintain departmental KPI reporting and financial schedules.

    Compliance & Administrative Support

    Maintain accounting records, contracts, leases, and legal documentation in accordance with company policies and retention requirements.

    Ensure compliance with accounting procedures, internal controls, and audit standards.

    Protect confidential financial, guest, vendor, and employee information.

    Provide ongoing support to the Director of Finance, Assistant Director of Finance, and Multi-Property Director of Finance.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and financial objectives.

This is the pay range for this position at Hyatt Regency Minneapolis reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors including experience and education.

    Qualifications

    Minimum 1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or finance experience.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

    Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

    Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Hospitality, hotel, or resort accounting experience preferred

    Experience with hotel systems such as Opera, BirchStreet, MarkView, Evention, or similar accounting and property management platforms preferred

    Knowledge of GAAP and hospitality accounting practices.
