    About the job

    The IT Operations Automation Engineer is a technical solutions expert responsible for developing, facilitating, and overseeing automation for Hopper IT. This role requires a "first-principles" thinker who can deconstruct technical challenges into their base elements and rebuild them with automated logic to drive operational maturity.

    What would your day-to-day look like

    • Build and maintain critical automation platforms, such as an Automation Service Gateway, to standardize how services are exposed and secured within IT Operations.

    • Proactively identify opportunities for automation and develop new processes following best practices for development, test, and implementation.

    • Partner with stakeholders to replace manual workflows with scalable, compliance-driven systems.

    • Provide Tier 2 and 3 support and troubleshooting, coordinating with vendors and internal teams when elevated support is required.

    An ideal candidate has

    • At least 4 years of experience in a similar role.

    • Proven experience developing scripts in Python, Terraform, or Bash.

    • Solid understanding of GCP, Okta (APIs and Orchestrator), and Google Workspace.

    • Knowledge of professional best practices for the full SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management (GitHub), and build processes.
